Beth Featherston, Headmaster
Miss
Beth Featherston is passionate about the calling God has placed
on her life to encourage and challenge young people to be all
He has called them to be, and to train teachers in all aspects
of teaching. With more than 20 years in the education field,
Miss Featherston brings experience from both the public and private school
sectors. She was commissioned as a charter teacher of High
Point Prep in 2002, and has served in administration since 2004.
Miss Featherston’s

a Bachelor of Arts
in Elementary Education
from the University
of Louisiana in Monroe,
a Master of Education
in Educational Leadership
from Dallas Baptist
University, lifetime
teaching certificates
in both Louisiana
and Texas, and several
education endorsements,
such as Gifted and
Talented Education
and Early Childhood.
She has received
numerous awards and
recognitions during
her tenure in education,
including Teacher
of the Year, Lifetime
Texas PTA Member,
and Who’s Who
Among America’s
Teachers/Administrators.
Miss Featherston has enjoyed
serving both public
school districts
and private school
associations as guest
speaker for workshops
on various educational
topics, and as an
accreditation site
team member.
Miss Featherston has earned the
ranking of First
Degree Black Belt
with the World Tae
Kwon Do Federation,
and enjoys tae kwon
do classes along
with reading and
decorating, as hobbies.
Her daughter, Gabby,
is in high school
at High Point Prep,
and her son, Brent,
and daughter-in-law,
Hilary, are the parents
of Miss Featherston’s
first grandchild,
Bailey, who now takes
precedence over the
aforementioned hobbies!
Miss Featherston has been a member
of High Point Church
since 2000, and has
served as a Prayer
Partner, Touch Point
Leader, and M Power
U instructor.
Glinder Alexander, Elementary Principal

Mrs. Glinder Alexander is a native of
Dallas and has lived in Texas all of her life. She graduated from South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas and later earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Dallas Baptist University.
Glinder has always had a passion for the things of God and has always been a teacher at heart. As she made her mark in the corporate world, the Lord began to stir change in her spirit. Her plans were to study for the LSAT and gain acceptance into Texas Wesleyan’s Law School, but God had different plans for her. God had placed the desire to teach in her heart, and in obedience, she answered His call. Glinder joined the High Point Preparatory Academy family in August of 2007.
Mrs. Alexander and her husband Eugene have been members of High Point Church since 2002 where she serves as a First Time Guest greeter and a Prayer Partner. They reside in Arlington and are the proud parents of three wonderful children Andrew, India, and Gené.
Laura Galindo, Secondary Principal
Mrs. Laura Galindo is a Fort Worth native and was the first in her family to complete a college degree. Mrs. Galindo holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, with a minor in Business. She holds her Texas State Teacher Certification with Bi-lingual and English as Second Language endorsements, and will complete a Masters of Education degree from Concordia University in May, 2010.
Mrs. Galindo began her teaching career in 1994 in the public school sector, having taught in the Dallas Independent School District, Richardson School District and the Dallas County Community College District prior to joining High Point Preparatory Academy in 2005.
In addition to education, Mrs. Galindo enjoys reading, writing, scrapbooking, baking, and keeping up with the family dogs, Bullet and Sienna. Mrs. Galindo and her husband George are the proud parents of three children, all of whom are High Point Prep students, and members of High Point Church.
