Thank You for Your Support!
High Point Church would like to express its appreciation for the overwhelming display of support it has received from people across the country and around the world. At this time, more than 140,000 positive, supportive emails, letters and phone calls have come in encouraging us in our stand for truth and righteousness. Only 2% of the response was negative, 98% was positive and supportive. We are still receiving your letters and calls of support. Every letter, email and call is a testimony that we are not alone in standing for biblical morality.
Although we do not use public opinion as the gauge of right and wrong, we are pleased that the overwhelming majority of people who responded believe as we do that homosexuality is a sin in the eyes of God and that the homosexual lifestyle should not be allowed to be openly flaunted in places of Christian worship.
Thank you for not being deceived by the distortions of the main stream media and supporters of the homosexual agenda who have used this as an opportunity for self-promotion in defaming a church by falsely accusing it of hatred and prejudice. Though their deceptions, misrepresentations, and fabrications were spread rapidly, the truth has prevailed through the alternative media and word of mouth conversations of people who are interested in knowing and supporting the truth.
You will be glad to know that since this event transpired, our congregation has surged in growth with hundreds of first time guests coming in support of our stand. More than 200 souls have made decisions for Jesus Christ in the past few weeks. God has certainly turned this situation around for His glory!
High Point Church would like to thank …
Tony Perkins and the Family Research Council for their support and guidance throughout this ordeal. Tony you are a true friend. Your wise council and direction was greatly appreciated. Thank you Randy Wilson for coming to our church and standing with us. Your prayers were heard.
We would also like to thank Don Wildmon and the American Family Association for their support and for sending out a petition informing the public of the attack of the homosexual agenda and garnering support for our stand. Thanks to the tens of thousands who signed the petition and would not compromise the truth for political correctness.
We also want to thank Paul Edwards of the Paul Edwards Radio Talk Show in Detroit, Michigan for being one of the first to get the facts right and report the truth. Your radio interview was the turning point in the media. Your listeners can be proud of the way you were not swept into the deceptions and misrepresentations of the main stream media and liberal press. You are truly a noble Berean who diligently seeks the truth and is led by conscience and not by sensationalism. Many in the alternative media began following your lead soon after your program aired.
Thanks to Americans for Truth, One News Now, Family Action Organization, Townhall.com and many other alternative news sites and family organizations that upheld the truth on the internet. Thanks to Focus on the Family for their email of support and encouragement.
We also want to thank the many pastors, churches and ministries who were with us in our stand for righteousness. Thank you Dr. Paige Patterson, President of the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for your uncompromised statement in the main stream media. You spoke when others were silent. We will never forget your stand. The Southern Baptists were the first to come to our defense on this issue. Thanks to our dear friend Pastor Gary Smith and the wonderful people of Fielder Road Baptist Church in Arlington, Texas who prayed for us. Pastor Gary your call meant the world to us. Many thanks to Pastor Stephen Broden of Dallas, Texas who garnered the support of many wonderful African American pastors and churches who were not afraid to make a public statement of their support for us. We appreciate you greatly. Thanks to Pastor George Pearsons and Eagle Mountain International Church as well as Kenneth Copeland Ministries for your prayers and support. Also, thanks to Ron Luce of Teen Mania Ministries who expressed his agreement with and complete support of our decision. Thanks Ron for training up the youth of America in righteousness. They need to know God’s Word concerning homosexuality. You are making a difference! Thanks to Evangelist Perry Stone for his complete support and encouragement in our decision. Perry you have always spoken the truth no matter what. Thanks for preaching an uncompromised message! Our many thanks to Pastor Dino Rizzo of Healing Place Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for helping us get connected with others who could help. Also your blog displayed your uncompromised friendship and love for High Point Church. We love you! Thanks for always being there.
We appreciate greatly the support of Pastor Joel Osteen, the Osteen family and Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas who supported us 100% in our stand. Because the secular media makes the family connection we were in direct communications with the Osteen family from the beginning of this episode. Pastor Joel, Lisa, Paul and of course Dodie offered many words of support and encouragement. Many thanks to Don Iloff who once again proved that a friend sticks closer than a brother. We also want to thank Pastor Jim and Tamara Graff and Faith Family Church who encouraged us with supportive words and prayers.
Our thanks to the Association of Seven Pillars Churches whose pastors and leaders came to our defense and encouraged us in many ways. You have proven that family matters. Muchas gracias to all of the apostles and pastors representing over 1,000 churches in Nicaragua who prayed for us and stood firm with us in the truth. You are mighty warriors in the Spirit. Thank you Brother Roger Layton for your call from Managua and your many emails of support and faith. You are a true apostle and friend.
Thanks to the countless masses of unseen believers who represented truthfully the facts and more importantly the truth of God’s Word in defending the faith in the blogsphere. We must continue to speak the TRUTH IN LOVE. It is our moral obligation - and you have done it so well. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” Thanks for loving the sinner by caring enough to speak the truth about the sin.
And finally to the loving, caring and compassionate people of High Point Church who would give the shirt off their back to anyone in need and have many times before: thanks for your courageous stand in the face of terrible persecution. You were thrown into the fiery furnace of hateful ridicule and false accusation but did not bow down or compromise the truth. Though you loved with an undeniable love, you were despised and rejected just as Jesus was. You have been refined in the refiner’s fire - a vessel fit for the Master’s service. Now rejoice that you’ve been found worthy to suffer shame for HIS name!
